EXCLUSIVE: We’ve learned that singer/songwriter/actress Demi Lovato’s deal was done late last night. So Fox will introduce her and already locked-in Britney Spears as its new judges for Simon Cowell’s fall talent show The X Factor at today’s upfront in NYC. Unlike last year when the network went along with Cowell’s low-profile judges’ choices, this fall the show is stressing its celebrity quotient in an unabashed bid to grab younger demographics.

Spears was first to close her deal in April to join Cowell on the judging panel in Season 2 following a month of talks. Deadlline was first to report that the pop star received a $10 million offer to join Fox’s singing competition and finally signed up for even more than that – closer to $15 million.

That means Spears exceeded the $12 million which Jennifer Lopez received on American Idol last season. Cowell and Fox had focused on getting Spears on board before moving to fill the other vacant judge chair on the show. The names most mentioned for that spot were Lovato and Miley Cyrus. An insider told Deadline that Cyrus decided she didn’t want the gig so a full-court press ensued to get Lovato’s deal done over the weekend.

The recruitment of both singers now successfully replaces first-season X Factor judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. Cowell has been mum about his courtship of Lovato but effusive in his public praise for Spears who was the bigger ‘get’ for his show: “I’m fascinated by Britney,” he said during a radio interview with Billy Bush in February.

“The fact that she’s one of the most talked about — not just pop stars but people — in the world today, means that you’ve got this star power. This girl has resilience. I would think that if she’s managed to sustain a family, a career, which is tough, [X Factor would be] a walk in the park. I would be fascinated to hear what she has to say. She’s still hot, she’s still having hit records and she’s still controversial. There’s a reason for that.”

Wednesday

Britney Spears is official.

After months of eight-figure negotiations, the pop star has finally signed her contract to join Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid as a judge on The X Factor.

Spears finally inked her deal this week, E! News has exclusively confirmed. As we previously reported, Spears will get $15 million for one season’s worth of work. She had agreed in principle to the deal weeks ago and had spent the last several days working out the fine print.

“The contract is signed,” reveals source close to the star. “There’s been a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks as they negotiated the small details, but she’s on. It’s all completed and Britney is beyond excited.”

Cowell blew up the show’s cast at the end of its inaugural season, firing judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones. Since then, he’s been searching for the perfect panel in hopes of boosting the show’s second-season ratings.

“She’s ready for this,” the insider continues. “She can’t wait to sit down next to Simon at the judges’ table and give this everything she’s got. She is excited about showing the world that she can do this, and do this well. This is the perfect next stage in her career. Both Britney and Simon are very excited to work together.”

This will be Britney’s first network TV project since her short-lived Britney & Kevin: Chaotic reality series with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Now we’re just waiting for Cowell and crew to finalize the fourth judge (names floated in recent days include Spears’ fellow former Disney princesses Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato, but neither has been confirmed) and name a new host—or, possibly, hosts. That announcement is expected by the time Fox announces its fall schedule at the upfronts on Monday.

Britney Spears is hoping that teen queen Demi Lovato will become a fellow judge on Simon Cowell’s X Factor, because Spears thinks Lovato is inspirational and believes they would have great chemistry on the show, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

As previously reported, Team Spears recently signed the contract to become a judge on X Factor. The pop music icon will be paid $15 million dollars a year, and her fiancé, Jason Trawick will be on set with her for filming.

Cowell still needs to fill the remaining two judges’ positions since he fired Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul after the music mogul was disappointed with the ratings from the first season.

“Britney is the anchor of the new judging panel and that was Simon’s most important hire,” a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com exclusively. “Britney is extremely hopeful that Demi Lovato will become one of the judges because she truly admires her. Britney loves how open and honest Demi has been with her fans after she went to rehab last year. She thinks they have a lot in common and that they would have great chemistry on the show. Britney is being kept apprised of the status of ongoing contract talks with Lovato and it is looking like she will be joining the show! Britney is extremely excited for filming to begin, which will be in the next month.

“Britney and Demi have met a few times very casually at Hollywood industry parties but those were very brief. Demi went to one of Britney’s concerts in Anaheim in 2011 and met with her backstage. Once Demi officially signs her contract Simon will have the new judging panel over to his house for a celebration dinner. The second season of X Factor is going to be amazing,” the source says.

Demi Lovato is the front-runner for the 4th seat on the “X Factor” judge’s panel, but she hasn’t gotten an offer yet … sources connected with Fox Network tell TMZ.

We broke the story, producers are close to sealing a deal with Britney Spears to fill one of the 2 vacant chairs, but that deal is still in negotiations — it is NOT closed. We’re told both sides expect to reach an agreement and if they do Britney will end up with $15 mil for the season.

Lovato certainly has a fiery personality — as we reported, she once socked a female back-up dancer in the face during the Jonas Brothers tour.

The other people in contention for the 4th seat are Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, LeAnn Rimes and Fergie. But there have been NO offers made to fill that seat.

After the actor Darren Criss, of the successful series Glee reject the invitation to introduce X-Factor, Cowell started the negotiations with the singer Gwen Stefani to be the new presenter of the program.

As reported by New York Post, Simon Cowell wants Gwen Stefani at any cost. “Cowell is feeling the pressure and he knows time flies. He needs big names to compete with The Voice,” a source said to the newspaper.

Now that the contract with Britney Spears is completely finished (the official announcement should happen later this month) to join the panel of judges of the program, Gwen (who is also a personal friend of the Princess of Pop), has a contract to analyze.
The source revealed that the singer showed interest in presenting the program and the initial value for recruitment is about 7 million dollars.

“Simon wants to create a healthy atmosphere in the backstage of the program. And for that, nothing better than calling people who are friends and talented as in the case of Britney and Gwen,” the source continued. “He is aware of the pressure he will face next season, but is sarcastic as anyone and know how to show his ability. Basically, Simon always knew how much these artists benefit the program, so he’ll pay any price to get them, “the source said.
